Software Options

There are two basic software components to ORS competition--timing sofware and race display software. Timing software is what you use with your track to count your laps and time your laps. Any of the files below will do this and generate a logfile which can be submitted for ORS competition. Race display software is what you can use to view the compiled race. There are several options in this regard as well, including an on-line Java viewer.

Timing Software

Racedax Specially made for use with ORS. Running in DOS and no installation apart from a trigger system over LPT. (Includes Racedax viewer.)

Scuderia McEwen International Maker's of Dino (DOS), the original 100% compatable ORS program. Basic program is freeware. An enhanced version is available for a small fee fo $10.

Lap Timer 2000 A Freeware MS Windows 9x/NT/2000/ME/XP program by Gregory Braun. ORS Compatible.

Virtual Race System Windows 9x/2000/NT program. Shareware. 100% ORS Compatable.

Rennbahnmanager A German-language DOS program that is ORS compatible.

Trackmate A DOS-based program that sells for $40+ depending on options. ORS compatable.

Viewer Software

Standard ORS Viewer package. Runs in DOS.
